With a lifetime spent in rhythm and production, Auflassen is an exuberant maturation and homecoming for Guillaume Coutu Dumont— a sonic distillation of two decades working in the realm of electronic music.
Alongside pianist and longtime collaborator Nicolas Boucher, drummer Robbie Kuster and saxophonist Sébastien Arcand-Tourigny, Auflassen creates an organic symbiosis of live instruments and electronics.
Inspired by a multitude of genres, Auflassen has crafted his own new direction, revelling in echoes of jazz, exotic textures, fanciful yet restrained arrangements and dashes of soul and techno.
