Boogie Nite
Shine EP
Emerging Chicago groover Boogie Nite gets his Glenview debut, and it's a rather remarkable piece of work. With a sound set that bumps and bulges with a really trippy edge, his overall approach can be compared to Derrick Carter, but played underwater on really heavy sedatives. His native Chi-town jack is there but there's an overall psychedelic, cosmic flavour going on. From the dreamlike whirls and twirls of "The Happy Song" to the star-gazing Henrik Schwarz style shimmers of the title track, this really is quite special.
