Jamaican singer Barrington Levy was at the peak of his powers in the early 80s, and this much-sought Jah Life cut captures that golden moment in full swing. Originally issued only on a UK 12", it pairs two heavy vocal sides with their dubs, pressed here from the original mothers. 'One Foot Jojo' rides a militant rhythm shot through with Levy's unmistakable phrasing, the flip unleashing a stripped-down dub version that magnifies the groove's raw drive. On the B-side, 'To Love Someone' shows his more soulful inflection, delivered over a bubbling bassline and crisp snare accents, again followed by its cavernous dub counterpart.
