Slap
Eden Now
Slap – one of the most obscure yet forward thinking acts from the early 1980s meets the spearhead of today’s electronic music, Ricardo Villalobos.
Slap was a project of then Miami-based experimental musician Stephen Nester. The originals are disturbingly brilliant electronic excursions which appeared on Nester's own Duotone label.
Ricardo Villalobos’ jazz-fueled rework carefully deconstructs Slap's intricate mix of electronic and acoustic elements, resulting in one of the deepest mixes he has turned in in recent years. Vivid drums build up around a driving bassline and scraps of Slap's field recording atmosphere. Not to mention the rough claps!
